Annual Reports

De Volksbank Human Rights Report

De Volksbank Human Rights Report

I was so proud to be part of this project for de Volksbank's Human Rights report. It was a joint collaboration with Tekstschrijvers.nl and Sustainalize.

ASR Dutch Core Residential Fund

ASR Dutch Core Residential Fund

This project was a sustainability insert in the ASR Core Residential Fund Report. I interviewed company specialists and wrote up the piece for their annual report.

ASR Dutch Prime Retail Fund

ASR Dutch Prime Retail Fund

The ASR Dutch Prime Retail Fund annual report wanted to get up close and personal with their clients out in the field. I went onsite to interview a variety of retail experts and owners, which resulted in a series of articles on topics such as city retail, the supermarket landscape, and shopping centres.

Business Journalism

December 2017 In Motion

December 2017 In Motion

Business journalism is one of my favourite things to do. This is a GEODIS company magazine, and it's a great example of the business-friendly, accessible style and tone I'm known for.

New Ground Issue 14

New Ground Issue 14

Here's some more business journalism from GEODIS. Again, in a business-friendly, accessible style.

Websites

GEODIS

GEODIS

When the global logistics player GEODIS revamped their global website, they came to me for help. This was a large and fun project, as I wrote about virtually all of their products and services across transport, logistics and supply chain management.

Coronatest

Coronatest

The GGD asked me to help them write the Plain English version of their 'Coronatest' website . This was a joint project with BureauTaal, a Dutch company I work with that specializes in Plain Language. They do the Dutch stuff; I do the English stuff. It was a great opportunity to put all of Plain English's 21 rules to work!

Complete Communications

Complete Communications

This is the website I use for my training company called complete communications. Feel free to contact me about that, too...we're COVID-friendly!

Corporate videos

Philips Smart Robotization

Philips Smart Robotization

I do a lot of corporate video work. Many of these  videos are confidential, in-house productions. However, I do have a few that I can show. I worked on this Philips video with a production company called The Mute Zone (TMZ). Our challenge was to turn technical material into something that was easy to understand for everyone. I think we did a pretty good job here!

Philips Travel Smart

Philips Travel Smart

Here’s another corporate video I made with The Mute Zone (TMZ) for Philips. It’s always fun to interview in-company managers, brainstorm together about their end goals, and create compelling text.

Green Screen TMZ

Green Screen TMZ

This time, The Mute Zone (TMZ) asked me to write a script about one of their own services!

Brochures

Logistics

Logistics

I've been writing in the field of global logistics for a long time. It's a complex, innovative and dynamic area, and it's always changing. I mean, just look at what COVID-19 has done to internet shopping and its associated delivery challenges! Here's a brochure for GEODIS Aviation logistics.

Industrial Engineering

Industrial Engineering

I love working in the area of technology. Why? Because there are so many different types of products, services and companies out there. It's fascinating. And when it comes to their brochures, all these companies have one thing in common. They need to translate the technical features of whatever it is they do into real benefits for the end reader.

Strategy Consulting

Strategy Consulting

I spent five years writing at A.T. Kearney, a top-tier strategy consulting company. While I was there, I wrote across a wide variety of services and industries, including branding and brochure material for the company itself. To this day, I still deliver business writing workshops to their consultants across Europe and the Middle East.

Telecom

Telecom

I began my writing career in the field of Telecom at KPN. Here's a brochure from the good old days at KPNQwest.

Magazines

Changing Corporate Culture to Community

Changing Corporate Culture to Community

The Habtic Standard hired me to research and write an article on the concept of corporate culture and community. I was able to combine my professional and personal experience for this one, and it was a lot of fun to write.

Clingendael

Clingendael

Clingendael (the Netherlands Institute of International Relations) asked me to participate in this awesome project. It involved writing all of the articles for their flagship magazine on the political economy of Africa's Sahel region. I interviewed the organization's experts onsite in The Hague, and each one had an amazing story to tell.

The ERIM Awards: Celebrating Success Together

The ERIM Awards: Celebrating Success Together

Here's an article I wrote for the Erasmus Research Institute of Management as they celebrated their ERIM Awards.

Branding

Branding

Branding

Sometimes smaller is better. Here's a branding project in which a lot of thought turned into a few words. But they said everything the company wanted to say!

Books

Maintaining Your Competitive Edge

Maintaining Your Competitive Edge

The Hoogeschool van Amsterdam is a university of applied sciences here in the Netherlands. Here's an example of a book from their aviation engineering department, where I helped them turn applied research into a reader-friendly book.

Ghostwriting

Do we really understand the numbers we receive?

Do we really understand the numbers we receive?

A good copywriter should be able to take complicated and sophisticated material and transform it into readable, interesting text. Here's an example of turning numbers-based science into reader-friendly material for the Rotterdam School of Management's 'RSM Discovery' magazine. My scientific background came in handy here. Of course, the original researcher got the writing credit...after all, it was a ghostwriting project!

Does Climate Change Affect Global Innovation?

Does Climate Change Affect Global Innovation?

Here's another example of ghostwriting for 'RSM Discovery' magazine. I love working in the area of climate change and innovation. When these topics intersect with business, I'm in my sweet spot.
